Tea on the golf course Sunday rendezvous

Got into our riding gear early and went exploring on our trail bikes. After some steep climbing on the tar road we headed down Silvermine Valley since being denied by NO MTBing signs at the entrance to the contour path which would take one up towards Ou Kaapse.

Next stop: warm Chai Tea break overlooking the golf course!

Exiting the valley via Clovelly we made our way back home through the back roads visiting the dirt jumps but only briefly as the wind had picked up and our butts where getting numb..
Found a little bicycle friendly, paved road linking to Fishhoek.

We plan to attempt the "Ou Wa Pad" jeep track into Silvermine next and eventually into Tokai and back. Now that would a proper trail ride!

Today's ride: 20kms, 1:27 moving time

Although good for training, the trail bike is not ideal for a predominantly tar ride. I am hoping my latest project - a mid 80's ladies racer - will make road trips fun and inspire me to do longer trips! Interesting article about people in Cape Town and their bikes - read it here.
This bike looks identical to my latest project bought from Cross Town Cycles.
