Race day!

Yesterday we got up at the crack of dawn and headed out to Jonkershoek for our 3rd downhill race of the year. There were almost 80 riders, all excited to ride the new extended race track. The shuttles were looooong and bumpy. Some technical issues made for many delays and few practice runs. However, it was still good fun to ride the track on our full suspension bikes, in dry conditions and seeing the usual race faces.

Proper bike check performed by my favorite feathered friend :)

Heading home after a long day.

So what's the results?
Reto crashed in a loose corner on the top section but still managed a time of 3mins 41secs.
I had an unlucky race run - got caught up to by a rider from the next category (Elite Men - the FAST guys!) - so that I had to stop and let him pass, which wasted lots of time. This was very unfortunate as I had a really good run up to that point and would have made a fair time. It came to 5mins32secs though.
